The 2021 Women of Distinction Honorees

Amy Brauner is Exeucutive Director of the Eastern South Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross. Ms. Brauner began the program Sound the Alarm, in which she led the installation of over 100,000 smoke alarms in over 35,000 homes. She has weathered many storms, a tornado, and supported many house fire responses. In her role, she manages partnerships including corporate, community and faith-based organizations, a mighty board and friendly volunteers to inspire blood donations and serve our community through the Red Cross mission.

Lillian Brunson is an active member of her community. Not only was she a Girl Scout herself but was a leader for her daughter and granddaughter’s troops. Ms. Brunson was a teacher in the Darlington County School District for over thirty years. Over these years, she worked hard to help her students and she dedication can be seen in her accolades, including several Teacher of the Year. As well as teaching school, Ms Brunson has been a swimming instructor for over forty-five years. As a mother, a leader, and a mentor, Lillian Brunson has dedicated her love and life into her community.

Stacy and Charlie

   Stacy Pearsall is a Nikon Ambassador and has had her photography displayed in many major galleries. She was an Air Force photographer and served three tours. She is one of three women who have won the National Press Photographer Association Military Photographer of the Year Honor. Pearsall’s series "Veterans Portrait Project" has documented over 7,500 veterans across all fifty states. Stacy Pearsall has used her passions of photography and helping others to help improve the lives of others.

She is the author of two books: A Photojournalist's Field Guide: In the Trenches with Combat Photographer Stacy Pearsall and Shooter: Combat from Behind the Camera. Stacy was wounded on her last tour with a TBI and she is now a retired Staff Sergeant from the Air Force. She is still able to work and travel as extensively as she does thanks to her service dog provided to her by America's Vet Dogs. You might know Stacy's sidekick and partner, Charlie, who was the 2nd Today Show Puppy With a Purpose. 

Barbara Brooks

    Barbara Faye Eaddy Brooks has always had a passion for serving her community. As a nurse, she was a mentor to her staff and cared deeply about her patients. She has always worked hard to help her community, not just as a nurse but in other inspiring wasys. She was a mentor in the Florence School District for students in need. Her hard work can be seen in many awards including the Excellence in Practice Award and the McLeod Health Merit. A portrait of her hangs in the McLeod Regional Medical Center. She is a hard worker, strong leader, and dependable member of her community. 

       Angela T. Clark was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina in 1969, and earned a dual degree in theater and business from South Carolina State University.  She was the Founder and Executive Director of Frabjous Enterprises and  managed fourteen subsidiaries, including three Miss America 2.0 franchises.

She was an accomplished singer and skilled entrepreneur who inspired the lives of others through her passion and mentorship.  Angela was honored and inducted into the South Carolina State University 2019 Jazz Hall of Fame.

She was a 33-year member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and was initiated at South Carolina University in the Spring of 1988. She was extremely active in Delta, serving in multiple leadership roles as a member of both the Orangeburg and Greenville Chapters in South Carolina.
